The founder of Jacob’s Ladder church, Mr Walebatla Radipitse has been described as a loving leader who has dedicated his life to building the nation in various ramifications over the years.

Speaking at a ceremony to award Mr Radipitse with a ‘Love of People Award’, the founder of Boifang Modimo Tlotlang Kgosi 1st Peter National Project, Mr Taolo Moshaga said the religious leader was one of the nation builders that Batswana should be proud of.

Through the project, Mr Moshaga honours community builders such as dikgosi and religious leaders in various parts of the country.

Consequently, he said there was need to recognise Mr Radipitse’s commitment towards the positive impact he continued to make on the society.

“He is one of the founding fathers of our country, who volunteered and sacrificed their resources towards developments for Batswana.

He has impacted many lives not only through the church, but in different areas throughout his life, and it is therefore befitting that we honour him while he is still alive,” he said.

Mr Moshaga said since Mr Radipitse had lived a fulfilled life, it was up to Jacob Ladder congregants and all those who had associated with him to use the wisdom he had imparted to better their lives.

He said handing over the leadership of the church he founded while he was still alive showed that he was an honourable man.

“Many leaders are only replaced after death, so for him to do this while he is still alive shows how much wisdom he possesses.

As a country we need people of Rre Radipitse’s calibre to take us forward,” he said.

Additionally, he implored Christians to live a life full of love at all times, by demonstrating kindness towards those they interacted with.

He said Christians should be exemplary in their behaviour, while at the same time slow to judge.

For his part, Bishop Alogeng Letebele commended Mr Moshaga for recognising their founder’s commitment towards the community, even beyond the church building.

He said in appreciation, the church had also erected a statue to honour the man who has led them for many years, sharing his wisdom and skills to those he associated with.
In appreciation, Mr Radipitse said he was elated by Mr Moshaga’s gesture, urging him to continue spreading the love throughout the country.

“Gatwe maoto a tabogela kwa loratong,” he said. ENDS
