Phase IV roll-out programme successful in Ngamiland

The COVID-19 campaign for school going children has ran successfully with a total of 10 015 pupils vaccinated out of a target of 10 900, in the Ngami District Health Management Team.
Maun Administration Authority (MAA) Chairperson, Mr Vepaune Moreti told the MAA council meeting on Monday that the Phase IV roll-out exercise commenced on January 19, 2022.
He said learners managed to take the first dose of the Pfizer vaccine, recording 91 per cent coverage by January 27, 2022.
He said the Ngami DHMT, had so far screened 32 006 people and had registered 9118 COVID-19 cases and 145 COVID-19 deaths by February 14, 2022.Mr Moreti said that a total of 316 health care officers had tested positive in the Ngami health district since COVID-19 was declared a pandemic, while nine succumbed to COVID-19.
He said the COVID-19 fourth wave cases had mild symptoms and were managed from home with very few clients hospitalised.
“The district has experienced a decline in the number of cases over the last three weeks, with remarkable decline in COVID-19 related deaths,” he said.ENDS
