Botswana Books donates books to Kgatleng schools

The private sector has been commended for meeting the government half-way in advancing the welfare of learners.
Kgatleng District Council chairman Mr Daniel Molokwe said this during a donation of 1 000 library books by Botswana Books Project in Mochudi on Friday.
He said it was imperative for school management to liaise with relevant authorities on issues concerning the welfare of learners in order to ensure a healthy learning environment.
Mr Molokwe also applauded the Kgatleng education region for working hard in ensuring that they produced good results despite the challenges brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic.
The chairman said the relevant authorities were working together to ensure the facilitation of internet for the betterment of pupils’ learning experience.
He also encouraged different schools’ management to benchmark from one another.
For his part, Botswana Books Project director Mr Ezekiel Malenya said the organisation realised the potential of learners across the district hence the donation. Mr Malenya further said the initiative was not only limited to donating library books but also contributed computers as well as solar lights to enhance learning. He also said the initiative aimed to cultivate reading and research for learners.
When giving a message of gratitude, Radikolo Junior School headmaster Ms Tselana Temeki applauded Mr Molokwe for being at the forefront of ensuring good welfare of learners by soliciting donations for schools in Kgatleng.
She also appreciated Botswana Books Project for prioritising education in the district through the donation, which she said would go a long way in impacting schools’ mission and vision. BOPA
