Avani Gaborone Resort and Casino has promised to continue to support Tsogang Trust, a non-governmental organisation based in Mogoditshane. Avani general manager, Ms Candice Letamo made the promise at a thanksgiving party the hotel hosted for vulnerable children in Gaborone recently.
Ms Letamo said the party was a way for the hotel to reaffirm its commitment and support to Tsogang Trust as well as a part of their corporate social responsibility.
The thanksgiving party came as an early Christmas present for the children who were treated to a sumptuous meal and games.
“Each year, we have committed to spend the day with the children of Tsogang Trust, as a celebration and merriment during the festive period.
However, we promise to continue to give our support and resources to Tsogang Trust not only during Christmas time but throughout the year as well,” she said.
Also, she said since the hotel adopted the NGO more than five years ago, they provided transportation to various schools for the children, as well as essentials such as linen, face masks and sanitisers, among others.
For her part, Tsogang Trust founder, Ms Gosata Chabe appreciated Avani for their continued support throughout the years.
Ms Chabe stated that running a charity organisation was not easy as there were many challenges, but kind offerings from organisations such as Avani, made the task worthwhile.
“The Trust has been running for more than 20 years and thanks to organisations such as yourselves, we have not closed our doors,” she saidTsogang Trust is a centre in Mogoditshane housing adults and children living with HIV/AIDS and assisting them with medications, food, clothes and other necessities.
