Rich you must give Poor still give

Nothing is as satisfying as giving out of a good heart. Dr Atiq Khan, a Senior Medical Officer at Scottish Livingstone Hospital in Molepolole, who is fond of giving to the community and people around him, said in an interview he always goes to bed content whenever he gave. 

The Bangladeshi citizen his family had made giving a tradition and his father was always at the forefront. 

He has merely ensured survival of this beautiful tradition. 

“ No, it is has nothing to do with being rich. It is the heart that gets touched and is prompted to give,” he said. 

Besides his own religion’s liturgy, he has adopted Vision 2036, with which he has accustomed himself and always finds something to do towards its realisation. If only we could all internalise the Vision and really be desirous to see it fruition, we would have a completely new Botswana, he reasons. 

Dr Khan’s work of philanthropy includes donations to the COVID-19 response, adoption of Lewis Memorial primary where he donated a laser printer and teaching materials. 

He also followed up malnourished children in Kweneng West health care centres and provided formula milk, as well as voluntary visits to clinics to train and educate healthcare workers on treatment of sick children. 

Moreover he has donated diapers, face cloths, baby soap and others to Maternity and Neonatal Units. 

He also had has been giving educational materials to Bonewamang primary school as well as toiletries to Molepolole Prison. 

“I ws recently contacted by the Regional Education Office in Molepolole who invited me to consider giving to one of the schools in Kweneng West as they also have different needs,” he said 

After familiarising himself with the schools he decided to give to Metsibotlhoko Primary School, a remote area school which has been performing exceptionally well in their Primary School Living Examinations. 

Dr Khan donated a laptop, a canon pixma printer, which needs no cartridge and education materials in September 2021. 

He wife Farah Tina has volunteered to be a librarian and assistant teacher at Shepherd English Medium School in Molepolole. “ We are committed as a family to give back to the communities amoing which we reside and we plan to do that for the foreseeable future.” ,0ht malnutrition. 

He will continue to support primary schools with educational materials especially on geography and environmental science. ENDS
