The scheduled construction of new overpass (bridge) at Rainbow circle (intersection of Western Bypass with Kudumatse Drive) starts tomorrow (August 15).

A press release from the Ministry of Transport and Communications says as a result, old inner lanes at the roundabout will be closed and traffic diverted to the new slip roads.

The public is also advised that the new slip roads will be utilised as a large stretched traffic roundabout to ensure public traffic is removed from the overpass construction activities for safety.

The release says the new slip roads have been installed with essential road furniture such as signage and road markings to guide traffic accordingly.

It also says police traffic officers and other relevant stakeholders will be on site during the first few days of the transition to monitor traffic and allow motorists to adjust.

The project is part of road development works being undertaken at Rainbow circle, Btv and Game City intersections.

The ministry has thanked the public for continued support and patience as construction continues.

It, however, apologises for any inconvenience this might cause to the public. ENDS
