Mahalapye Sub-district has registered a cumulative 62 COVID-19 associated deaths, as at July 11, revealed Mahalapye District Health Management Team (DHMT) coordinator, Ms Thandie Kgosiesele.

Ms Kgosiesele said the sub-district had also registered a cumulative 5 202 COVID-19 cases, with 4 446 recoveries and 694 active cases.

She expressed concern that the sub-district continued to register an increase in the number of COVID-19 cases in schools.

She said Ramokgonami Junior Secondary School recorded 105, Madiba Senior Secondary School 30, Sefhare Junior Secondary School 16, while Mookane and Ramokgonami primary schools recorded 11 each.

The 694 active cases, she said, were from different villages across the sub-district, with Mahalapye recording the highest number of 286 active cases.

Ms Kgosiesele said Ramokgonami had 145, Mookane 44, Shoshong 24, Dibete 23, Sefhare 21, Tewane 13, Machaneng and Makwate 10 each, while the remaining villages had registered less than 10 cases each.  Ends
