Unangoni Van Straaten, an emerging business entrepreneur in the office rentals business is the winner of the FNB Swipe & Win P100 000 Grand Finale competition held in Molepolole on Saturday.

The 36-year-old emerged the winner out of nine other competitors representing nine FNB branches from the preliminary competition that qualifies her for the final P100 000 draw which she also won

Speaking to BOPA, she said though she had two FNB accounts, the business and personal one, she emerged the winner through constant swiping with her personal account.

Ms Straaten said she was humbled by the second winning prize within a short space of time from the first competition held during the first week of December and the current completion, as it would help her realise her dream .

The ambitious entrepreneur said her dream had been to venture into offering serviced office space which she hopes to inject the funds into to help expand the business and in the process acquiring business plots for multi-residential that she had dreamed of.

FNB head of consumer and card issuing, Ms Tshepiso Scheffers confirmed, they had resorted to running a competition that would impact people’s lives by giving them a chance to decide on the cash price departing from the initial idea.

She said the competition that started in 2016 had previously been focusing of giving out cars as prizes but later realised that due to the current pandemic, people’s needs varied, therefore cash prize would suffice for individuals to decide on their priorities.

The idea behind the whole thing as Ms Scheffers highlighted was to encourage the habit of swiping as it was cheaper and more convenient. BOPA
