Apply equitable fair leadership practices

26 Jan 2021

Dikgosi should always strive to promote the welfare of Batswana through equitable and fair leadership practices.

This was said by Ntlo ya Dikgosi chairperson, Kgosi Puso during the official opening of the 5th meeting of the 4th Ntlo ya Dikgosi in Gaborone on January 25.

He encouraged dikgosi to utilise their leadership skills and emotional intelligence when dealing with people to foster an environment where all could have their say regardless of their position in society.

Noting that dikgosi had always been instrumental in the social upliftment of their people, Kgosi Puso cited the over P181 000 Ntlo ya Dikgosi members donated to the COVID-19 fund.

He described the donation as a testament of bogosi’s commitment to remaining relevant and inclusive at all times.

Kgosi Puso said the role of dikgosi remained critical during the COVID-19 pandemic to encourage their people to follow all the set guidelines in order to fight the spread and transmission of coronavirus.

On another matter, he expressed the hope that as the rainy season had begun, it meant a period of good farming and a pumper harvest for Batswana.

The 5th meeting of the 4th Ntlo ya Dikgosi is scheduled to last two weeks with eight motions expected to be tabled.ends
