19 Jan 2021

Member of Parliament (MP) for Bobonong, Mr Taolo Lucas has urged his constituents to use his office to advance developments in their respective villages.

Speaking during a meeting at Motloutse lands on Monday, Mr Lucas said his constituency officers were informed and had what it took to assist constituents improve their livelihoods.

“Our office exists to serve the interests of constituents,” he said, adding that the electorate were welcome to seek explanations on any matter that needed clarity.

The Bobonong MP said he would tour the constituency, especially production areas, to meet electorates who had no time to attend meetings in villages.

“We can’t just come here when canvassing for votes and then turn our backs on you after you have successfully put us into political offices,” said Mr Lucas who urged his electorates not to fear elected representatives.

Mr Lucas said political leaders should represent constituents in the best manner they could.

On other issues, the MP complained about some officers whom he said snubbed his meetings at the lands and cattle posts.

Officers, he said, should go all out to take services to the people, including those at production areas.

For his part, Molalatau councillor, Mr Dan Makwana agreed that it was paramount to take services to the people.

He said holding meetings at the lands and cattle posts was within government’s sphere of responsibility. Ends
