Kwape fulfils disabed persons wish

17 Jan 2021

Member of Parliament for Kanye South, Dr Lemogang Kwape, on Thursday donated a wheel chair and turned the life of a woman who recently lost a limb around.

Speaking during the donation in Kanye, Dr Kwape said the wheel chair, the third he has donated in his constituency so far, was an expression of a wish for those in need not to be left behind.

Dr Kwape, who is also Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, said it was paramount for political representatives and capable Batswana to develop the empathy to help government help the needy.

He said the Kanye Administrative Authority would construct a ramp to enable the beneficiary to move freely around her yard.

The beneficiary, Ms Khumoetsile Molome, was happy that the wheel chair would give her the mobility she craved since her leg was amputated.

She shared that she tripped and fell last April injuring the leg beyond help in the process.

Ms Molome, with eyes growing misty as she explained, said the family was still struggling to come to terms with what had befallen her.

She said the wheel chair would restore her faith and give her hope. Ends
