Most of Botswana’s dams have received a significant amount of water, says Water Utilities Corporation (WUC).
In a press release, WUC says Nnywane, Ntimabale, Dikgatlhong and Shashe dams are sitting at 100 per cent compared to last year’s levels of 98.6, 82.1, 70.8 and 73.8 per cent respectively.
The release says Letsibogo Dam, which has a carrying capacity of 100 cubic millimeters, has increased from 79.9 to 99.6 per cent while Thune Dam, which still has 39 months of supply without further inflow and supplies the Bobirwa cluster, has increased by 50 per cent.
According to the release, Gaborone Dam, which supplies greater Gaborone, has dropped from 61.6 to 54.5 per cent followed by Bokaa Dam which has registered a 27 per cent decrease.
It further indicates that Molatedi Dam dropped by 2.9 per cent this year from 16.7 per cent last year. Ends
