The Vice President, Mr Slumber Tsogwane, has offered condolences to Sowa Town Council mayor, Mr Olifant Mfa, after the passing on of his wife, Ms Lechedzani Mfa.
Ms Mfa died on December 24 and was buried today.
Speaking at a memorial service in Borolong on Tuesday, Mr Tsogwane said Ms Mfa was a unifying factor in the Botswana Democratic Party (BDP).
“She was tireless stalwart member of the BDP,” said Mr Tsogwane.
Former police officer, Mr Phillip Makoba thanked President Dr Mokgweetsi Masisi and Mr Tsogwane for comforting the family.
He said the deceased was a loving and caring mother and staunch Christian, who was also dedicated to community building.
“She was a tailor, a farmer and a close companion of her husband,” said Mr Makoba. He said Ms Mfa had not been well for some time.
Mr Makoba said the deceased was survived by her husband, Mr Mfa, five children and grandchildren.
Sowa Town councillor, Mr Bahithi Ratora, said even though Mr Mfa had lost his sole companion, he would be comforted by his children.
The deceased’s son, Mr Katlego Mfa said it was difficult to state whether his mother went too soon or too late. “It has been a blessing to be groomed by someone of my mother’s caliber,” he said. ENDS
