Masisi comforts the bereaved family

The President, Dr Mokgweetsi Masisi on Tuesday visited the Nthoki family to console them after losing two members due to the recent torrential rains at Foley.
He said it was unfortunate that the recent downpours came with disaster that included damage to property and loss of lives.
Dr Masisi said it was only proper for him to visit the family and deliver his message of commiseration and let them know that he was aware of their bereavement.
“Be comforted for this was the will of the Lord. As we received the much awaited rainfall, no one knew that we will gather here mourning the loss of our loved ones,” the President said and further stated that they were not alone in their bereavement and had the support of the leadership.
The deceased’s cousin, Mr Simon Sibanda said the siblings, Matlalepula Nthoki, 36 and Kabelo Nthoki 34, met their fate on Friday night when trying to cross a conduit to their cattle post.
He said due to the heavy rainfall that made it difficult to see the pathway, the duo drowned and remained in the water until Sunday when they were spotted by a passerby, who notified the police.
The incident, he confessed, broke the family members’ hearts. Ends
