Member of Parliament for Kanye South  Dr Lemogang Kwape recently visited the families of the late Ms Gaokgakala Mmereki and Ms Ruth Kgosiemang to honour the memories of the two fallen matriarchs aged 93 and 82 respectively.

He said the two had lived purposeful lives and urged the families to look back and cherish the memories they left behind. 

Dr Kwape, also Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation said he had wished to attend their funerals but would not make it due to pressing official business.

At the Kgosiemang residence, the deceased’s  first born daughter Ms Cynthia Mawela said her mother,  a former teacher, died after a long illness. 

She said funeral plans were underway.

Meanwhile, Ms Mmereki, best known as Mma Basadika, was laid to rest on Saturday.

Dr Kwape was accompanied by Assistant Minister of Investment, Trade and Industry Mr Molebatsi Molebatsi.ends
