Waste management department donates to hospital

20 Dec 2020

The Department of Waste Management and Pollution Control in Maun has donated masks, sanitisers, play books, stationery, toys and snacks to the Letsholathebe Memorial Hospital Paediatrics Unit.

Speaking during the donation recently, the Department’s North West Coordinator, Mr Mabala Letsatle said they were giving to the children, who would be hospitalised during Christmas time, to brighten their holidays.

“We decided to give to the children because being isolated by sickness during Christmas time may dampen their spirits,” he said.

Letsholathebe Memorial Hospital Pediatrician, Dr Evis Johnson appreciated the donation, which she said was the second in a row.

Chief Registered Nurse, Ms Lesego Mmipi said the donation was timely and thoughtful, since some children were likely to spend Christmas in the hospital.

Ms Mmipi said the Paediatrics Unit currently had 12 children hospitalised with their guardians. ends
