Morwaeng applauds Limkokwing for contribution

Minister for Presidential Affairs Governance and Public Administration, Mr Kabo Morwaeng has applauded Limkokwing University of Creative Technology for contributing to social programmes.
Speaking during the university’s 8th Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony of a six metre Christmas tree installed at Game City, Minister Morwaeng said the ceremony was a lasting initiative that would go a long way in the institution’s social outreach programme to society.
He acknowledged donations made by the institution to SOS Children’s Village, Child Line Botswana and Gamodubu Child Care Trust as solidarity in helping out during COVID-19.
The minister thanked Limkokwing’s founding father, Professor Tan Sri Limkokwing for his goodwill to the country as demonstrated through its different initiatives to the society, including the various sponsorships availed to the creative sector this year.
He appreciated the university for being a good corporate citizen and always striving to better the society they operate in.
Meanwhile, the university’s communications and public relations director, Ms Mercy Thebe said the university wanted to pay homage to all who had made special contributions by making a difference in the society.
Ms Thebe noted that the university was passionate about raising the target of potential community leaders.
She said Professor Tan Sri fell in love with Botswana in the 90s and wanted to engage and be responsive to communities and advocate for social change.
The university donated hampers to Gamodubu Child Care Trust, SOS Children’s Village and Childline Botswana worth about P60 000. ends
