03 Dec 2020

The First Lady Ms Neo Masisi December 3 led the peloton of over 32 cyclists riding the Majwe-Albert Milton (AM570) km cycling challenge from Gaborone.

Accompanied by Assistant Minister of Basic Education, Ms Nnaniki Makwinja and Minister of Youth Empowerment, Sport and Culture Development Mr Tumiso Rakgare, Ms Masisi rode 14km as part of her contribution and support to the  good deeds that the Majwe AM570 Challenge would do for the communities.

Ms Masisi noted that workshops geared towards responding to gender based violence for  both male and female youth, would prepare them for social interactions during their adulthood.

In an interview with Minister Rakgare, he said such initiatives were an encouragement to not only the public, but political leadership to engage more in the fight against gender based violence.

On the First Lady’s roadmap regarding raising awareness and engaging stakeholders on the issue of gender based violence with a view to ending it, he said plans were underway to also take cycling challenge against gender based violence in his constituency.

Mr Rakgare commended cyclists for their remarkable efforts and dedication to the objectives of the cycle challenge.
