Maun East MP, Mr Goretetse Kekgonegile has commended Kweneng Social Club for making a difference in the lives of the inhabitants reeling from the effects of COVID-19.

He said this on November 29 when Kweneng Social Club at Maun donated groceries to four families of Xhana settlement in the North West District. 

Mr Kekgonegile observed that the club members’ gesture were proving that the North West District was their home away from home.

The area MP said the donation would go a long way in assisting recipients who were affected by COVID-19

Kgosi Sarah Molefi of Xhana settlement appreciated the donation.

Kgosi Molefi said the donation would assist the underprivileged family members who were not provided for under government programmes.

She said the gesture showed that the club had a vision beyond sports.

Kweneng Social Club Representative, Mr Bobby Ntheetsang said the Club was formed by Kweneng people who worked outside their villages in the year 2017 to promote oneness  and support one another.

He said the club had grown over the years with branches around the country.Mr Ntheetsang said the Maun club members gave back to the community through donations while building relationships as members, and also had a football team that competed with other teams in Maun.

One of the beneficiaries, Mr Justice Monama appreciated the efforts by the Social Club. ends
