Boat capsizes two men may have drowned

Police in Kasane are investigating an incident in which two men are suspected to have drowned in the Chobe River yesterday (November 28).
Senior Superintendent Thari Senwelo said the duo and 10 other occupants of a speed boat were returning from a cruise when their boat capsized on its way to the jetty between Spar and Mowana Lodge around 6:30pm.
He said when the incident occurred there was another boat nearby and the operator of the other boat managed to rescue nine adults and a six-year-old child from the sinking boat.
Snr Supt Senwelo said the search for the missing men was on-going with help of the Botswana Defence Force (BDF), public and fire department. He said the operator of the capsized boat was helping the police in their investigations.Ends
