Elephant Havens Foundation has donated furniture and hand sanitizers worth P9 600 to Matlapana Health Post in Maun.
Elephant Havens is a non-profit organisation founded in 2017 to protect and preserve elephants.
The donations included tables, chairs and hand sanitizers.
Handing over the donation, the founder of Elephant Havens Foundation, Mr Boago Poloko said there was shortage of furniture in the health post, thence their furniture donation to improve productivity.
Mr Poloko explained that the hand sanitizers would help in preventing the possible spread of COVID-19.
According to Mr Poloko, one of their intentions was to support the Ministry of Health and Wellness’ mandate of providing quality healthcare and to promote patient care services.
He said that it was part of their corporate social responsibility to play a role in the development of the communities.
“We will continue assisting the communities in many ways and we are willing to support when need arises,” said Mr Poloko.
Receiving the donations, Ngami Regional Health Management Team (RHMT) acting coordinator, Dr Sandra Maripe explained that the donations would assist in providing a conducive environment for Matlapana Health Post community.
Dr Maripe also acknowledged Elephant Havens Foundation for realising the need to assist Matlapana Health Post to boost staff morale.
