16 Nov 2020

Maun Waste Warriors founder, Mr Oarabile Johannes has appreciated the Maun community for their support in the litter-picking initiative along Thamalakane River.

In an interview during the litter-picking exercise at Sedie ward in Maun on November 14, Mr Johannes said the objective was to make Maun clean and a number one tourist destination.

He said the business community, in particular, those in the tourism sector and Maun Technical College (MTC) Environmental Education Club were playing their role in helping clean the village.

He noted that Safari companies donated materials such as refuse bags and gloves as well as refreshments.

In an interview, MTC Environmental Education Club coordinator, Mr Etsile Kenosi said the partnership with Maun Waste Warriors was worthwhile since both clubs had a mandate of conservation.

He expressed hope that the partnership would help MTC achieve its conservation awareness initiative and for students to network with companies involved to access  opportunities. Ends
