Mthimkhulu lauds Choppies Distribution Centre

Assistant Minister for Presidential Affairs, Governance and Public Administration, Mr Dumezweni Mthimkhulu, has praised Choppies Distribution Centre for providing shelter to the needy.
Speaking during a house hand-over ceremony in Ranaka in the Southern District on November 10, he said, through the gesture, Choppies was contributing to the country’s socio-economic development.
Mr Mthimkhulu said the house, built at the tune of over P120 000, was also in line with the company’s aim of helping Botswana achieve its Vision 2036 ideals.
He implored other companies and individuals to come on board and assist the less-fortunate members of the society
Choppies has so far donated over 200 houses countrywide, something that Mr Mthimkhulu said contributed significantly to socio-economic development
He said the beneficiary, Ms Lesego Ratlou had 11 children who were in dire need of shelter.
Choppies Distribution Centre representative Mr Gaolathwe Mokaa, expressed gratitude to the Office of the President entourage for availing their time to partake in the event.
He said the donation was part of the company’s corporate social responsibility to help the less-fortunate members of the community.
Mr Mokaa said Choppies was of the view that without support of reliable and committed customers, the house donation would otherwise not had been possible.
For her part, Ms Ratlou thanked all those who ensured success of the event.
She shed tears of the joy as she appreciated the house.
Ranaka councillor, Mr Mothibedi Mothibedi thanked Mr Mthimkhulu and the entourage who saw it fit to hand-over the house, despite their tight schedule.
He said residents considered themselves lucky to have received such a donation and have Office of the President staff grace the event.
He praised Choppies for partaking in development of livelyhoods. ends
