Assistant Minister of Health and Wellness, Mr Sethomo Lelatisitswe toured health facilities in Tonota constituency on Friday.

Mr Lelatisitswe and his entourage toured Tonota, Manyanda, Semotswane and Mandunyane clinics.

Assistant minister said the biggest challenge facing the clinics was shortage of staff, health equipment, transport and shortage of space. 

He said to address the issue of staff shortage, ministry had signed an agreement with Cuba and China to help assist with more doctors who would enhance services of health facilities not only in Tonota but the whole country.

He further urged health officers in Tonota Sub-district to utilise space in their facilities to allow health facilities to run well.

The purpose of the visit was to check the current status of health facilities and welfare of COVID-19 team and to help ministry prioritises places in need of urgent maintenance as new financial year approaches. ends
