Mahalapye Sub-district COVID-19 cases on rise

02 Nov 2020

Mahalapye Sub-district is experiencing an increase in the number of COVID-19 cases.

A press release from Mahalapye District Health Management Team (DHMT) says the cases were registered from different organisations and departments within the Sub-district.

“The DHMT is working round the clock to curb the spread of the virus,” it says.

The DHMT, therefore, appeals to the community to strengthen adherence to COVID-19 protocols, by washing hands regularly with soap and water or hand sanitising, wearing masks properly every time, especially in public places, social distancing and reducing unnecessary movements.

The DHMT also appeals to the community to refrain from stigmatising and finger-pointing of COVID-19 patients or organisations where patients come from.

“COVID-19 does not know any boundaries and there is no one, in particular, who is responsible for this disease, but what we know is that it is spread by human beings,” adds the release.

The public is urged to remain calm and cooperate with health authorities in the quest to curb the COVID-19 plague.

They are also encouraged to reduce unnecessary movements, which can help in the reduction of the virus spread. ENDS
