No plans for unified school in Ngwaketse West
29 Oct 2020
Government has no immediate plans to convert one of the junior secondary schools in Ngwaketse West into a Unified Secondary School.
This was said by the Minister of Basic Education Mr Fidelis Molao when answering a question from Kgosi James Khumanego of Ngwaketse West region during the Ntlo ya Dikgosi meeting.
Mr Molao said there were three junior secondary schools in Ngwaketse West, adding that the schools were within the Good Hope Senior Secondary School catchment area.
He admitted that the distance from the three schools and the senior school was too far to walk, but noted that children who progressed from the junior schools in Ngwaketse West attended senior school as boarders and did not need to walk.
Kgosi Khumanego had asked the Minister if his ministry would consider converting one junior secondary school within Ngwaketse West region into a Unified Secondary school as a way of reducing the distance travelled by learners to the senior secondary school. Ends
