Plan to address land application backlog
27 Oct 2020
The newly appointed Kweneng Land Board Chairman Mr Kgang Kgang has set up an ambitious plan which aims to address backlog applications.
Speaking during the land board meeting held in Molepolole on Monday, Mr Kgang said the regional sub-land boards had agreed to develop a document in the next 12 months that would guide them in addressing the applications backlog as well as facilitation of allocation of plots to projects that have socio-economic impact on the country.
The document will also address revenue collection, urgent applications and delegation of authority.
“The above initiative is intended to address an array of concerns and complaints on land matters that are currently inherent in Kweneng Land Board,” he said and he assured board members that all laws, regulations and policies governing administration of land would be followed when the plan is executed. Mr Kgang said land management required commitment, integrity, transparency, accountability and team work.
“I therefore urge everyone to embrace these values in executing the land management deliverables,” he said.
He further addressed the board members on controversial issues engulfing Mogoditshane Sub-Land Board and projects such as Presidential Amnesty, Compensation in Kind and others that had been instituted to address some problems.
Mr Kgang said the projects were yet to be concluded and urged all stakeholders to come up with plans of action to conclude them.
He further called upon the land board to improve its performance through community participation and quick settlement of land disputes. Ends
