Tsokatshaa welcomes 38 destitute houses

19 Oct 2020

Residents of Tsokatshaa in the Nata/Gweta constituency have praised government for the 38 destitute houses built in their village.

They told a village leadership meeting with their MP, Mr Polson Majaga recently that the development would positively impact the landscape of the village.

Ms Ntheeletsang Butterfly, a member of the village development committee, said coupled with the connection of electricity, the developments would turn their village into a beautiful place.

Furthermore, Ms Butterfly said the developments would also uplift the lives of the 38 beneficiaries and their families, as well as restore their dignity.

She, however, expressed concern about poor communication from Tutume, citing that recently, they got information regarding the tender to supplying the school with eggs when the deadline had long passed.

Further, she said they were told that priority was given to people with poultry farms, which she said did not sit well with the community because the initiative was meant to empower both business people and individuals.

In response, Mr Majaga said poor communication from Tutume was a result of the service centre in Nata not functioning properly, adding that with the employment of a permanent service centre manager, he was confident of improvement.

On the issue of supply of eggs, he said he was of the view that poultry farms should supply individuals who would then supply the school, stressing that the individuals should buy from poultry farms instead of chain supermarkets, to add value and lead to local empowerment for all. Ends
