Magosi register second win

Mochudi Centre Chiefs registered their second consecutive victory, beating Tafic 3-1 in an entertaining be Mobile Premier League encounter played at UB Stadium on September 17 evening.
As expected, Centre Chiefs, also called Magosi, were in control of the game and could have buried the visitors with an avalanche of goals but they wasted numerous opportunities especially in the first half.
With Lemponye Tshireletso not available for the game, coach Dragodjlo Stanodjlovic started with the pair of Bonolo Fraizer and Onalethata Tshekiso up front. Another Chiefs new signee, Kereeditse Maphane had an outstanding game putting good crosses from the right flank which unfortunately also went to waste.
Maphane played in the right back position where Tshepo Motlhabankwe usually plays and he fitted in the role well, making good runs on the flanks tormenting Tafic midfield with his dribbling skills and speed. Sekgabo Molebatsi had three clear chances but he failed to direct his header leading to Tafic escape.
Tshekiso also had an opportunity but unfortunately he tried to be dramatic and his bicycle kick did not work out. With Magosi piling pressure, Tafic used a lone striker playing long balls to him hence Raphael Nthwane had an otherwise easy night in the goal posts although at times they looked threatening.
After knocking on the door numerous times without success, Chiefs eventually got their lead through Fraizer and supporters, who had come in large numbers jumped to their feet with the believe that Magosi would score more goals.
Just when everyone thought Magosi would continue to pile pressure and score more goals, a deadly mistake at the back resulted with a free kick which was easily converted to level matters before half time.
In the second half, Tafic alias Matjiminyenga took the game to their opponents with the belief that they could win the game especially since Chiefs’ woos in front of the goalposts continued. Chiefs played a direct football characterised by long shots up front and that made it easy for Tafic as they took control of the midfield.
Magosi supporters were then getting restless and frequently called on the technical bench to make substitutions. Stanodjlovic had several options in the bench amongst them Othusitse ‘Jabu’ Pilane and Elvis Meleka.
After Tafic made several attempts which they failed to convert, Magosi changed their game and started playing short passes after getting control of midfield. Fraizer made his mark this time through an assist to Tshekiso who put Magosi ahead after out pacing Tafic defence.
The game pumped them up and Matjiminyenga started chasing after their shadows although they remained solid in defence, dealing with everything thrown into them. Patrick Lenyeletse took the game beyond opponents through a shot that beat an advancing Tafic goalkeeper making the score 3-1.
It was a comfortable lead for Magosi as they collected maximum points early in the season in their quest to defend the title. As for Tafic, they have not won a game yet and conceded seven goals in two games, signalling all was not well at Matjiminyenga.
In other games played on Tuesday, Ecco City Greens lost 0-1 to FC Satmos while BDF XI beat Extension Gunners 1-0. UF Santos defeated Notwane by solitary goal. Meanwhile, the league top goalscorers; Lesego Lubinda of Notwane, Gift Moyo (Nico United), Mpho Kgaswane (UF Santos), Onalethata Tshekiso (Mochudi Centre Chiefs) and Bonolo Fraizer (Mochudi Centre Chiefs) have scored two goals each.
