The South East District has resolved to train health and wellness focal persons on the use of laser thermometers in order to fulfil COVID-19 requirements.
District commissioner, Ms Sebokwane Dikgope said the training was in response to the appeal for all government institutions and private entities to record body temperatures of all customers and staff entrants as well as keeping registration records.
Ms Dikgope said the training empowered health and wellness focal persons on the proper use of thermometers to get accurate readings.
Apart from fulfilling COVID-19 requirements, she said district residents had observed the restrictions.
Ms Dikgope also said residents were adhering to the wearing of face marks, washing of hands and taking temperatures and registering all entrants rules as required.
Furthermore, she said the district leadership had been working to address challenges faced by the community during movement restrictions.
She noted that it had been helpful in regulating movement within the district.
She added that law enforcement officers had been doing a good job in enforcing compliance.
For his part, Ramotswa Police station commander, Superintendent Keoagile Tau said since the C0VID-19 extreme social distancing restrictions, they had charged 193 people for failing to stay at home as per the restrictions.
He said some had paid admission of guilt charges while others were yet to pay.

He said the Ramotswa policing area, which comprises of Ramotswa, Mogobane, Mogonye and Taung had recorded 19 cases since restrictions on alcohol usage.
