Botswana Telecommunications Corporation (BTC) in conjunction with Southern Africa Telecommunications Association (SATA) will host a two-day workshop to discuss interconnectivity between SADC member states.

A press release from BTC stated that the workshop, scheduled for September 25 to 27 in Maun, will be attended by operators, service providers, submarine cable companies, satellite, regulators and policy makers from the SADC region. 

The workshop would bring together makers and experts from technical, financial and commercial background including network design, operation and commercial departments.

The objective of these meetings, the release says, is to ensure that intra SADC voice and data or internet traffic remain in the region and SADC national backbones and access networks are developed and connected to the submarine cable landing stations. ENDS
