K squad changes students lives

10 Sep 2013

Palapye-based youth organisation,K Squad, continues to bring positive changes in students’ lives.

The organisation, formed by Pastor David Grace of Christ Embassy church, was aimed at moulding students to become better leaders of today and tomorrow as well as providing tutorials in different subjects for students to improve their academic performance.

Speaking during the academic seminar in Palapye, K Squad representative, Mr Siamisang Oitsile said the organisation though founded by Pastor Grace, was not a religious movement, but rather  a movement aimed at helping students discover their potential.

He said this movement was open to all youth, particularly students regardless of their religion and culture. He said his organisation empowered the youth by providing mentorship programme so that the youth could unleash their potential.

Mr Oitsile said the youth were faced with many challenges, therefore they should be empowered to overcome the challenges they experienced in their journey of life. Alcohol and drugs abuse, cohabitation, teenage pregnancy and unemployment he said are some of the challenges that the youth are faced with.

Thus, he said the programmes developed by K squad make a positive impact by moulding the youth, particularly students to become purpose driven students.

For his part Mr Moshe Seloko, a businessman said students’ journey to success has already started as such it was for them to choose whether they want to be successful or not.

He said purpose driven students work hard at school and have positive attitude towards all subjects, adding that passing all subjects is advantageous because students will have the opportunity to select a career of their choice.

He said students who do not do well in all subjects are limited to make career choices. Mr Seloko informed students that they were lucky to be born in a country where education is free as such he implored them to take their studies seriously.

“When you sow a thought, you reap an act, when you sow an act you reap a habit, when sow a habit you reap a character and when you sow a character you reap a destiny,” he said. Mr Seloko also cautioned students about friends they keep, saying that they should choose their friends wisely.

He said peer pressure will make students lose focus in their lives which will impact negatively on their success and destiny.Ends
