Masire hails Munroe's message

Former president, Sir Ketumile Masire has hailed world acclaimed speaker and government mentor, Dr Myles Munroe for the inspirational messages that he delivered over his two-day visit to Botswana.
Sir Ketumile said Dr Munroe’s seminar was not only fit for a few people who had attended but needed the whole nation to have had the chance to hear him speak. The world-acclaimed speaker was attending a leadership seminar in Gaborone.
Sir Ketumile said he was hopeful that those who had the chance to listen to Dr Munroe would be part of the solutions to the problem that the country faced. He applauded Dr Munroe for speaking more on the need to respect the past generation of leaders who built a concrete foundation for Batswana past the colonial era.
Sir Ketumile said it was important for the current generation to celebrate and recognise those who were gone and largely contributed to where Botswana is now.
He also challenged the church leadership to be more vocal and let their voices be heard in relevant platforms, a thing which he said can assist the nation in tackling especially issues that calls for good moral.
“If men of the collar had taken their right stand and adequately addressed HIV/AIDS issues at a time when Botswana was hit, we would not have been hit as much as we have now,” he said.
Dr Munroe who hails from Bahamas and is a life coach, government consultant, and leadership mentor advised country party-political leaders to assure that they take their leadership beyond election winning. Dr Munroe who said he was in Botswana for the first time said it is very important for people who hold leadership positions to be more concerned on empowering the next generation than winning the next elections.
He highlighted, that winning elections does not necessarily mean that one is a good leader, adding that it takes one to focus on purpose, passion, principle and vision.
“It is important to keep principles, contain conviction and be known for what you stand for rather than compromising your principles, just to win elections,” he said.
He made politicians to be aware that history never remembers every political leader, but it is only those who never sold their souls for winning and being in power that will forever be remembered. He highlighted that leaders are supposed to be seen building confidence; creating passion and commitment in their followers and helping them get what they need.
Dr Munroe said good leadership is most important as it determines destiny, and a solution to problems.
Earlier on when welcoming guests to the seminar, Information Services Director, Mr Russ Molosiwa applauded the Royal Assembly Ministries leadership for roping in a man of Dr Munroe’s caliber for a seminar in Botswana.
Speaking on behalf of government, Mr Molosiwa pointed out that Dr Munroe was not an ordinary man as he has assisted a lot of politicians and business men to build their kingdoms.
A motivational speaker whom Mr Molosiwa attested that he has also been an inspiration to him is an outstanding motivational speaker whose success story is unquestionable and an example to all.
He said for a long time, the church has always been associated with poor people who only lived through prayer, but Dr Munroe’s teachings have since taught the church its way to living successfully. ENDS
