Rolong Land Board chairperson, Mr Nathaniel Motshabi said the organisation had not been left behind in implementing the roadmap of the current administration as they had allocated about 1 063 plots.
Speaking on December 13 during the chairman’s ball in Good Hope, Mr Motshabi indicated that government had identified land use as a critical factor in the development of the economy.
He said as such they had helped the people by allocating plots in different villages in the area and by so doing they helped those who wanted to build their businesses.
He noted that as a way of empowering the youth, they had also allocated 789 plots to young people, adding that they also allocated 51 ploughing fields and 15 commercial plots.
To facilitate government project, in collaboration with other government departments, he said they had witnessed the implementation of numerous significant projects in the area such as the construction of Tlhareseleele road and the Good Hope Senior Secondary School borehole project.
“We also assisted the Department of Youth Empowerment, Sport and Culture Development to convert the Good Hope show ground lease into a stadium lease even though the project has not started,” he said.
Regarding service delivery, he said, they had come up with innovative ways of improving service delivery by acquiring a state of the art mobile office to assist customers on time.
Another successful project is the currently-under-construction record centre.
Moreover, Mr Motshabi urged people in the Good Hope Sub-district who had not registered their plots to do so.
He noted that the land registration exercise was ongoing, and that some plots were not yet registered.
Mr Motshabi also thanked fellow Rolong Land Board members for helping change the lives of Batswana. Ends
