28 Nov 2019

As the festive mood kicks into gear this weekend, food lovers are set to be treated to a plethora of delicacies courtesy of culinary market Molapo Eats at Stanbic Bank Piazza in Gaborone.

Hosted every first Sunday of the month, it is an experience that hosts a vibrant variety of local businesses, and it would be just in time to kick off the December shopping spree.

Speaking in an interview, event coordinator Lefika Bantsi said this initiative facilitated a great atmosphere that gathered local entrepreneurs under one roof for people to come and buy fresh produce, beauty products, jewelry, creative goods and much more.

“This Christmas special edition of the market has a focus on creating buzz around local products. We want to make sure Batswana have a wonderful all local shopping experience and to gift their loved ones with a great variety of products by local entrepreneurs,” he said.

This is a family-oriented affair, where people would get value for money, and as Molapo Eats, they want to shed a spotlight on the quality products and culinary talent Botswana has, he said.

He said some of the featured entrepreneurs would include Fragrances Perfumers, who locally manufacture scents for men and women, local DJs, food courts and a kids’ entertainment corner.

For his part, Molapo Crossing Managing Director Luc Vandecasteele said in the spirit of Christmas, they are looking forward to this market that would host a colorful, diverse range of products.

This market is a celebration of local entrepreneurial talent and they are thrilled to grow this initiative at Molapo Crossing, he said.

“It is free admission and I encourage people to come and eat their way around the world. We will have the biggest variety of different foods, confectioneries, local produce, cooking oils and much more,” he concluded.ENDS
