UDC manisfesto provides solution to Batswana challenges

03 Oct 2019

Umbrella Democratic Change (UDC) leader, Advocate Duma Boko, says once his party is voted in to power, Batswana’s social and economic challenges will be history.

When launching Ghanzi North candidates on Tuesday, Advocate Boko said his party had a custom-made manifesto, which he said outlined solutions to economic and social challenges.

He said in the absence of better pay, decent jobs, improved welfare and social programmes, it would be fighting a losing battle against poverty and socio-economic injustice.

Advocate Boko said Botswana’s working class deserved a better pay, adding that it was affordable.

He said prudent management of funds under his leadership would make it affordable to improve salaries for workers.

He said processing of salt from Sua would be done locally rather than being exported as raw material.

Advocate Boko said they would establish salt processing plants to create jobs.

Also, he promised to exploit cattle industry opportunities citing leather production as the lucrative business if done well.

One of the speakers, Mr Osenotse Mabote, said the capitalist system, which the ruling party subscribed to, had impoverished Batswana.

Mr Mabote said social ills in the country were a result of lack of social justice and security.

Mr Noah Salakae would represent the party in the constituency as a parliamentary candidate. ENDS
