Ngwao Boswa Cultural Festival organisers say they remain optimistic that their concept has the potential to grow and make the intended impact.

In an interview on the sidelines of the first edition held at Kgogomodumo Lodge in Kanye over the weekend, Bush Ride Safaris and Penterstar Luxury Resorts and Hotels regional manager, Kitso France said the objective was to introduce the Ngwao Boswa initiative as well as brand Kgogomodumo Lodge as it was formerly known as Motse Lodge.

Ngwao Boswa, he noted was intended to resuscitate various cultures found in Botswana and the plan was to organise similar festivals at different places.

Even though artistes such as Dr Vom, Ditiro Leero, guitarists and poets, among others had revellers eating from the palm of their hands, France admitted that as expected, they encountered teething problems.

He said even though they did not meet the ticket sales’ target, the turn up was not bad, considering there were other activities taking place at the same time.

He noted that they had learnt from their first experience, hence going forward they would market their event extensively and intensively.

He said he was optimistic that with proper marketing, they would do better on other similar events as they roll out the Ngwao Boswa concept to other areas.

Furthermore, France noted that next time they would engage more stakeholders, especially traditional leaders, who were the custodians of culture. Ends
