Company promotes ICT education

In an effort to promote Information, Communication and Technology (ICT) education in schools, Clicking Generation company has forged a partnership with Boyei Primary School in Maun.
Clicking Generation offers ICT education services and computer training for children and teenagers. The company specialises in computing to educate youngsters on computer basics, networking concepts, programming and software development.
To advance the partnership, the company donated 40 chairs to the school’s computer laboratory following a visit to the school to train pupils on ICT.
The director of Clicking Generation, Ms Tsaone Gaborone explained that plans were underway to adopt the school.
She said they partnered with the school in 2017 and enjoyed the relationship with management and pupils.
The company is also one of the key partners with Africa Code Week (ACW) in Botswana. In a recent launch of ACW in Maun, different speakers said the company played a key role in ensuring the success of the initiative in the country.
They hailed the company for developing computer literacy among youngsters.
Ms Gaborone revealed that through the initiative they had managed to train 400 teachers across the country.
The goal of Africa Code Week is to empower the young generation by teaching them coding skills they need to thrive in the 21st century. The week is focused on mobilising collective efforts, expertise and resources to deliver joint education priorities.
For her part, Boyei school head, Ms Kemmonye Moetse thanked the company, saying the donation would improve teaching and learning. ends
