02 Sep 2019

Batswana have been implored to continue voting for the Botswana Democratic Party (BDP)  to ensure continuity of developments in their constituencies.

Launching the BDP prospective parliamentary candidate for Tati East, Mr Douglas Letsholathebe in Tati siding on September 1, the party  secretary general, Mr Mpho Balopi said the BDP-led government had brought visible developments which Batswana continued to enjoy.

Mr Balopi warned voters not to be deceived by the opposition parties with false promises.

He added that his party was committed to its vision and mission of improving their livelihoods of Batswana.

Mr Balopi, who is also a parliamentary hopeful for Gaborone North said in the short period Dr Masisi had been leading the county, he had managed to attract investors from across the world.

He said voting for the BDP would ensure government continued with its goal of bringing in investors who could help create employment opportunities for Batswana.

Mr Balopi also challenged the opposition parties to tell Batswana how they would accomplish the minimum wage they were promising voters.

He therefore urged the democrats to be wise when voting and remember the good deeds BDP government had done for them.

Meanwhile, the prospective candidate, Mr Letsholathebe appealed to Batswana to vote for his party, noting that BDP programmes and policies were geared towards developing the country hence the need for the party to retain power.

Mr Letsholathebe said BDP was the only capable party to lead and cautioned Batswana against making a mistake of voting for the opposition parties on October 23.

He said the opposition parties were making empty promises to the electorate knowing that they would not fulfil such promises. ENDS
