Constituency community projects impact visible

Constituency Community Projects have contributed significantly in empowering local businesses.
Speaking during the Boteti Sub-district Council session at Letlhakane recently chairperson, Mr Molemi Galeragwe said since inception, P60 million had been approved to implement 103 projects across Boteti Sub-district.
He said 31 projects were implemented in Boteti East and West in 2017/18, with 28 completed and three at different stages of completion.
For 2018/19 financial year, he said the sub-district was implementing 35 projects, 17 in Boteti East and 18 in Boteti West constituencies.
He said eight projects were complete, 18 at different stages of completion and nine still at tendering stage.
The current financial year, Mr Galeragwe said 37 projects had been approved and all were at tendering stage.
He urged councilors to educate local communities about procedures and requirements, as well as seek guidance from relevant officers.
Other developments that have taken place in Boteti Mr Galeragwe said included the construction of a new operation theatre at Rakops Primary Hospital which cost about P16 million and was almost complete.
Mr Galeragwe said construction of a 29 kilometre Thalamabele-Mosu road which commenced February at a cost of about P224 million was at 29 per cent against the planned progress of 31 per cent while expenditure stood at about P21 million.
Mr Galeragwe also stated that asphalt overlay of the 46 kilometer Makalamabedi-Phuduhudu road incorporated Motopi access road would cost about P72 million and was expected to be complete next month.
The ongoing refurbishment of Letlhakane Senior Secondary School has been awarded to Vic Joe (Pty) Ltd at a contract sum of about P51 million, Mr Galeragwe stated.
In addition, he said they utilised the Economic Stimulus Programme to construct customary courts in Mmea and Mokobaxane at about P1.2 million each during the 2016/17 financial year. Ends
