Surrealtec manufacturers medical autoclaves

15 Aug 2019

Surrealtec PTY Ltd, a Botswana company that supplies, installs and maintains hospital equipment including autoclaves has manufactured a 400-litre autoclave, which will be used to sterilise surgical instruments, pharmaceutical items and other materials in government and private hospitals and clinics.

The company’s Marketing Officer, Mr Omphile Hloma attributed the manufacture to the knowledge and experience they had gained over the years.

The company has been a supplier since 2005 and gained extensive experience in maintaining autoclaves through countrywide maintenance contracts.

“Some of the raw materials used are from South Africa, especially the chambers. The machine is 100 per cent automated, allowing for less errors. Autoclaves are able to be customised according to the client’s needs and after sale service is offered to buyers,” he said.

“The autoclave, which the company has manufactured, can be programmed for any type of cycle and it has a water saving device that can save more than 80 per cent on average autoclave water consumption,” Mr Hloma said.

He said they were able to have the autoclave manufactured, installed and commissioned within 21 working days.

The company participated at the recent Global Expo, which Mr Hloma said was intended to familiarise people with their equipment as they want to start exporting.

He revealed that the company was working on a more portable 30-litre autoclave, which would be utilised by dentists as well as a 160-litre one. ENDS
