 Sebego Attorneys is the first law firm in Botswana to achieve the BOS ISO 9001: 2015 Quality Management System Certification.

The certification was awarded by Botswana Bureau of Standards (BOBS) at a ceremony held at Sebego Attorneys on July 23. 

Speaking at the ceremony BOBS Managing Director Ms Masego Marobela said Sebego Attorneys had proven their commitment through their activities and attainment of the certification in a period of five months, which  was applaudable.

“Certification is a deliberate and strategic process that can help an organisation to improve its performance and exceed its customer needs and expectations. 

This is a customer-centric and generous standard that can be used or implemented by a range of organisations. The certification underpins Sebego Attorneys to provide a comprehensive range of quality legal services,” she said.

Ms Marobela further said the continued effective implementation of the requirements of the standards meant the law firm stood to benefit on being able to address risks and opportunities associated with its mandate, context and objectives. 

She said it also demonstrated that the firm  had the ability to consistently provide services that meet customer applicable statutory and regulatory requirements. 

She noted that implementation of the requirements meant having opportunities to enhance customer satisfaction and having the ability to demonstrate conformity to specified quality management system requirements.

Local Enterprising Authority (LEA) Regional Manager South, Mr Oreneile Padipadi said by obtaining the BOS ISO 9001: 2015 quality standard, Sebego Attorneys had taken a huge step forward to ensure that it guaranteed quality to the public because nowadays clients looked for assurance in terms of quality.

“I would like to advise Mr Sebego to maintain the standard and continue offering good service to his clients as stipulated in the standard and to keep motivating other start-ups for them to also attain BOBS certification,” he said.

Sebego Attorneys Principal Partner Mr Tebogo Sebego expressed gratitude to both LEA and BOBS for the contribution they had made to the law firm, noting that ever since they introduced the system, they had noticed better turnover and the past few months had been fruitful to the firm. BOPA
