BPS warns the public about fake media release

Botswana Police Service (BPS) has dismissed as fake, a media release dated 24th July 2019 circulating on Facebook headlined: “REPORT SOMEONE WHO IS ALWAYS DRIVING WITHOUT A LICENCE AND GET A REWARD” .
A media release from the police says BPS distances itself from the purposed Release, its contents as it is fictitious and does not originate from the Botswana Police Service.
It further states that the matter is now under investigations with a view to identifying and prosecuting the culprits.
The release also states that the Botswana Police Service further wants people to refrain from posting and circulating unfounded information relating to the organization and or using the organization’s symbols as necessary actions will be taken against such individuals. ENDS
