Botswana Life rewards Employees
19 Aug 2013
Three Botswana Life Insurance financial advisors arrived in Gaborone recently from Boston, United States, where they attended a fully sponsored six days LIMRA sales forum.
The three employees, Ms Semponye Sebele from the Maun branch, Ms Akanyang Kenalemang and Mr Omo Molemi, both from the Francistown branch were rewarded for high performance.
According to a release from Botswana Life, LIMRA is an international organisation that conducts research on distribution systems for life insurance products on behalf of its member companies, of which Botswana Life Insurance is an affiliated member.
Botswana Life’s Head of Individual Life, Mr Moletlanyi Tshosa explains in the release that, “In an effort to motivate and foster a culture of high performance, Botswana Life created a sales competition for its direct intermediaries with the reward being the all-expenses-paid trip.
We are committed to the growth and development of our distribution partners. This is just one of the initiatives that we have in place to develop a culture of excellence among them.”
Mr Tshosa says their affiliation with LIMRA provides them with access to valuable insights on industry best practice, which are of great benefit to their distribution partners as well.
He explains that LIMRA hosted the Advanced Sales Forum from August 5 to 7, this year adding that it was a great opportunity for them to reward their top performers by sending them to the Forum where they could learn from industry experts in order to import knowledge to the local industry.
Mr Tshosa states that the three financial advisors emerged as winners in the sales competition that ran from January 1 to December 31, 2012.
“We, at Botswana Life, reward talent. This trip not only served as a form of professional development, but as a well-deserved vacation for the competition winners. The winners displayed one of Botswana Life’s values of service excellence and it is for this reason that they were recognised,” says Tshosa.
The release states that the three employees expressed excitement and gratitude at being awarded the trip, saying it enabled them to network with their counterparts at the forum and explored areas of interest. Ends
