Kacgae school hosts ICT day

Kacgae Primary School named after the settlement ‘Kacgae’ in Ghanzi district has appetite for information and communications technology (ICT) and readies itself for the next revolution, the ‘fourth industrial revolution’.
This school, a beneficiary of Schools Computerisation and Connectivity programme, offered by Botswana Communication Regulatory Authority through the Universal Access and Service fund (UASF) also wants the community to reap ICT dividends, thus hosted ICT day to showcase the importance of technology to the rest of the community.
Speaking at the event recently, Kacgae primary school head, Ms Kebahilwe Tshwaane said the school had made strides in ICT and it was befitting to host ICT day to promote ICT to the members of the community.
Ms Tshwaane said the vitality of ICT was inevitable thus she said parents, teachers as well as students could not afford to be left behind.
She appealed to parents embrace change for them to be at par with the global community, saying fourth industrial revolution was a reality and beckoning.
She said that they intended to host the event each term.
Information & Technology Officer at the school, Ms Felicity Kedidimetse highlighted that the use of ICT in schools should improve academic performance and should help the students from Kacgae to match the rest of the world.
She also said with the use of ICT, the paperless class room was possible.
Ms Kedidimetse encouraged parents to learn ICT saying their children would take a cue from them. ENDS
