05 May 2019

The annual Palapye Business Expo helps promote a culture of entrepreneurship.

Officiating at this years’ event, which started on May 3, the Assistant Minister of Investment, Trade and Industry, Mr Moiseraele Goya said the expo enabled small and new businesses to market and sell their products.

The expo allowed businesses to share ideas, benchmark, promote and develop the business sector in Palapye.

Mr Goya, also the area Member of Parliament, explained that the clients were the most important asset in any business.

He said companies must strive to retain their customers by providing world class products and services to avoid collapsing as well as have a healthy relationship with customers.

“Businesses should strive to exceed customers’ expectations and leave a good impression,” he said and encouraged business owners to do their research and understand the business landscape they were in.

He also encouraged entrepreneurs to also establish relationships with banks, academic institutions and other business institutions adding that small, medium and established projects were expected to play a role in diversifying the economy and create employment.

Palapye Administrative Authority chairperson, Mr Lesedi Phuthego, said the expo now in its second year was showing signs of growth.

He said the expo was an opportunity for the community to get information on entrepreneurship and running a business while Palapye Technical College head, Ms Patricia Aniyeso said the objective was to bridge the gap between suppliers and consumers.

She said the expo also inspired ideas and discussions on entrepreneurship especially among the youth and helped grow the economy. Ends
