HRDC chief applauds players

Human Resource Development Council (HRDC) chief executive officer, Dr Raphael Dingalo has applauded various sectors in the council for their contribution towards improving economy.
Speaking at the council’s third Skills Fair and Career Clinics in Francistown recently, Dr Dingalo said it was commendable to see the sectors participating in the growth of the country’s economic development, thus improving the lives of Batswana.
The sectors, he said, included agriculture, mining, health, finance, tourism and manufacturing.
“The Human Resource Development Council is driven by the national human development strategy. It is this national strategy that calls for the supplement of these sectors so that they assist in driving the human capital development,” he added.
Dr Dingalo also stated that the institution would come up with programmes that would address the issues that had been brought upon by different sector committees.
Also, Dr Dingalo stated that HRDC management had decided to take the fair to Maun in the North West region on March 12 and March 13 for the first time since its existence.
Furthermore, Dr Dingalo explained that they needed to take the learners through the communication and information communication technology skills development.
Giving a vote of thanks, the deputy mayor of Francistown, Mr Godisang Radisigo applauded HRDC committee for a successful skill fair in its 10 years of existence.
Councillor Radisigo said career guidance fairs helped promote vocational, technical education and training, which were vital for the economy and employment creation. ENDS
