France appreciates backyard initiative

A resident of Damchojenaa, Mr Kago France says there is proof that the poverty eradication initiative is the best way to get out of poverty.
Mr France said he was testimony to this after he was helped with the backyard initiative.
He said in an interview that he had always been fond of gardening and realised his dream when he was selected to undergo a training workshop at Diphuduhudu and since then he had never looked back.
On a good day, he said, he pockets at least P80.00, something he just wished for before getting the package.
Though Mr France’s garden is doing well, unlike other beneficiaries he is still waiting to be supplied with the irrigation system and nets.
“At the moment I am fetching water from a local standpipe to irrigate my plants, and because I have the will and enthusiasm with what I am doing, everything is going just okay,” he said.
He said dedication and hard work paid even when operating with limited resources.
Mr France was all smiles when talking about his project and said with the proceeds he got from his sales he had managed to buy himself some chairs and always helped his mother with the bus fares when going for medical check-ups at Selibe Phikwe.
He jokingly said, even his radiant skin was testimony to the fact that the initiative has brought good fortunes to his life, adding that even sleeping on an empty stomach was a thing of the past.
Mr France said though the poverty eradication programmes were good, the youth seemed not to be recognising that and this was evidenced by the rate at which they take the packages.
He urged the youth to take these programmes seriously to get themselves out of poverty, seeing that there were no jobs.
An enthusiastic Mr France said he was optimistic that in a few years his business would have grown in leaps and bounds. ENDS
