YDF beneficiary hails business expos

Young entrepreneur, Ms Dineo Gobatilwe, of Palapye who runs leather works business has hailed business expos for transforming and growing her business.

In an interview, Ms Gobatilwe, a Youth Development Fund beneficiary, said after being funded by the government in 2014, she took upon herself to work tirelessly to showcase her products in business expos so as to market and grow her business.

She said due to exhibiting in business expos, her five-year-old business which specialises in manufacturing leather products such as belts, bags, shoes, traditional attire, mats and other leather related products, grew in leaps and bounds.

Ms Gobatilwe said she exhibited her products in numerous expos.

“I learnt a lot on how to run a successful business in all the expos that I had an opportunity to showcase my products.

I met established men and women who are running different businesses and had the privilege to learn from them as they share their testimonies, ” she explained.

She revealed that during business expos, she attracted potential consumers and also managed to sell her products in reasonable quantity and ultimately making more profits.

She said in most cases she purchase stalls at the expos with money from her business savings, highlighting that saving is essential in business as the money can be used to sustain the business if it encounters a challenge.

She hailed Ministry of Youth Empowerment, Sports and Culture Development office in Palapye for being supportive highlighting that the officers in charge encourages her to work hard.

Ms Gobatilwe said she has proved to doubting Thomases that a woman can excel in predominately male dominated industry as evidenced by her crafted eye catching leather products. Ends
