Kenewendo donates kiddies hampers

Minister of Investment Trade and Industry Ms Bogolo Kenewendo recently donated kiddies’ clothing hampers to patients at Rakops Primary Hospital.

The hampers comprised of packs of vests and rompers and they were donated to babies aged zero to 36 months.

She indicated that the objective was to extend love, care and compassion.

The Minister also donated clothing hampers to 80 children at Letsholathebe Memorial Hospital in Maun.

Furthermore, Ms Kenewendo donated clothing hampers to Boteti West dikgosi comprising of packs of shirts and slippers as well as men’s messenger bags.

She reminded dikgosi of the recent opening of the Citizen Entrepreneurial Development Agency (CEDA) office in Boteti, urging them to take advantage of its services.

She stated that opening the CEDA office in Letlhakane was prudent, since mines were undergoing expansion, citing Cut 3 in Orapa, scheduled for 2021 and expansion of Karowe mine.

Minister Kenewendo implored farmers to venture into sheep production, revealing that plans were underway to establish small stock abattoir.

She said Boteti had been identified as an area that could produce small stock for export, adding that Setata farm had been selected to kick-start the project.

Meanwhile, the minister noted that it was critical to uphold and further nurture the peace that subsists in Botswana.

Councillor Batoli Manyuni of Tsienyane West advised dikgosi against participating in politics and urged them to remain patriotic and take the lead in protecting their country by ensuring that peace continues to reign in Botswana.

Kgosi Gowinnemang Matlhare of Mopipi said they would ensure that peace and tranquility remain the pride of Botswana. Ends
